Obituary of Madeline Branas
Madeline Ezzo Branas, RN, of Duryea, passed safely into the loving arms of Jesus. She was the widow of the late Paul Branas who died in 2008.
Born in Old Forge, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Rose Terrusso Ezzo. Madeline was a graduate of Old Forge High School and the Pittston Hospital’s School of Nursing known now as Geisinger Hospital. She was a volunteer at the Care and Comfort Health Clinic and Food Pantry in Pittston. She loved doing for others, family, friends, and just about anyone she met. She appreciated the friendships she made. She was a spiritual, caring, and always giving individual. To know her was to love her. She will forever be missed. She was a dedicated member of the Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Duryea.
Upon her death, she wanted her family, Lorraine, Jessica, friends and her many doctors and their staff, and the caregivers at Mountain View Care Center to know that she was very grateful and blessed for their thoughtfulness and care. She cherished her special relationship with Mark and enjoyed their many trips to new places, and Joanie, her dear friend, for 60 years.
Madeline is survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her infant son, Paul Jr., aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The funeral mass will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Nativity of Our Lord Parish – Holy Rosary Church, 127 Stephenson Street, Duryea, to be celebrated by the Rev. John Polednak. Interment Old Forge Cemetery.
Relatives and friends wishing to attend the funeral mass are asked to go directly to the church on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. There will be no calling hours.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Louis V. Ciuccio Funeral Home, 145 Moosic Road, Old Forge.
