Obituary of Francis R. Casella
Francis R. "Frank" Casella, 77, of Old Forge died Friday at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton. He was married to the former Judy VanDuzer. The couple celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary in July.
Born in Duryea, he was the son of the late Vito and Josephine Orloski Casella. He was a member of the Old Forge High School class of 1953 and a graduate of Lackawanna Junior College. Before his retirement, he was an accountant for Emery Air Freight. He was a Navy veteran, having served on the USS Salem. He was also a member of the Prince of Peace Parish, Old Forge.
Frank enjoyed being with his family. He was an avid Yankees, Giants and Penn State fan and coached Little League baseball.
Also surviving are two sons, Frank and wife Donna, Pittsburgh; and Jeff and wife, Oksana, Old Forge; a daughter, Lisa Bianco and husband, Scott, O'Fallon, Mo.; five grandchildren, Maura, Katie and Arthur Casella; Sean and Kristin Bianco; a brother, Vito and wife, June, Marietta, Ga.; two sisters, Audrey Sienkiewicz and husband, Edward, Dover, Del.; and Gloria Casella, Dover, Del.; nieces, and nephews.
The funeral will be Monday at 9:30 a.m. from the Louis V. Ciuccio Funeral Home, 145 Moosic Road, Old Forge, followed by Mass at 10 at the Prince of Peace Parish, St. Mary's Church, West Grace and Lawrence streets, Old Forge. Interment Dunmore Cemetery.
